Virgin America to introduce inflight WiFi next year
Saw this bit of awesome news over on Jaunted. They are saying that Virgina America will introduce inflight WiFi on their entire fleet by next year. While commenters rightly point out, this isn’t too hard on such a small fleet, but the point is that they are introducing this service at all. The bar has been raised again for the entire industry and all the other carriers will now likely add the same service, especially the low cost competitors who actually care about their customers.
WiFi will be perfect on those long coast to coast flights, and will really help people’s productivity. Virgin will still have to figure out how to block Skype calls so prevent in-air cell phone rage, but I’m sure it can be done with the right port blocking.
Excellent play Virgin, yet another way to set your brand apart! Please send me some free first class tickets now so I can do a much better review!!!!!
